It’s always a real pleasure getting to photograph a fellow photographer and catch up with your colleagues. On this occasion Kristina & I decided to do a little shoot swap so we had some up to date photos of us with our kiddies. And as we’re lucky enough to have the Hitchin lavender fields just up the road in Hitchin, we thought we’d take a little trip out there.
Sadly, It seems to be the worst curse of photographers that they take the photos but somehow never end up in them. This year I made a New Year’s Resolution to get in the photo, tick!
Kristina and I were already friends when we found out we were pregnant around the same time and due within days of each other. Then her little girl, Harriet, was perfectly prompt with her arrival while Grayson kept me waiting for weeks. So Harriet has ended up a few weeks older than Grayson. They still, to this day, get on really well so it’s always lovely to see them together. These photos of Kristina and Harriet were right around the time of their first birthdays which seems like a lifetime ago now as Harriet turns three today. Happy birthday gorgeous girl! (Sidenote: one day I’ll get up to date with my blogging!)
We headed up to one of my favourite outdoor spaces near St Albans, the lavender fields in Hitchin. Such a gorgeous outdoor place to have fun and if you haven’t visit – I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Looking back through these photos, I’m so grateful for good friends (especially ones on the same timeline as you and your kids), being able to support and be supported by fellow professionals and our growing, happy, healthy children. I hope you can see how much love there is between these two in these photos… I hope I’m lucky enough to get to photograph them for many years to come!
If you’re considering some family photos with your old little ones, then let’s chat it through and get planning your own Hertfordshire family photo shoot. If you fancy a lavender shoot it’s usually out June to August and definitely lovely to have a stroll through, so please do get in touch in advance.
