Adele and Matt had the most fantastic day at one of the most beautiful Suffolk venues going; Hengrave Hall. Let me tell you all about it, why I love this venue so much and show you a selection of my favourite Hengrave Hall wedding photography from this day.
Both Adele & Matt were surrounded by their closest friends as their bridesmaids and groomsmen as they got ready. They are both so thoughtful to each other; sending gifts between the bridal suite and the boys’ room. I love that Hengrave Hall has rooms for both bride and groom so close together! Adele had bought Matt an engraved watch box as a surprise to start his collection of watches that he aspires to! Matt bought his groomsmen awesome beer jugs. Everything had been thought of.
Adele had thought of every element for their wedding day, it was so beautiful. Her gorgeous sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes completed her elegant gown wonderfully. Her dress hung on a custom hanger which was bent into her name (please, every bride consider doing this rather than using a manky hanger out of your wardrobe!). Adele’s something borrowed was a family antique ring from her grandma. She had a locket on her bouquet with absent family in it. Everything was just so beautiful.
Zena officiated the humanist ceremony between Adele and Matt. I’m such a huge fan of humanist ceremonies as they are so much more personal to the bride and groom. This was no exception; there was lots of laughter as the guests heard how Matt & Adele met and how they think about each other. Adele’s brother and Matt’s sisters also did lovely, unique readings that they’d written themselves. One of my favourite elements was the acapella band that were hidden away on the gallery balcony to surprise the guests. They were amazing and got the crowd going with The Rembrandts’ ‘I’ll Be There For You’.
We headed outside for some drinks but the changeable October weather drove people into the beautiful Hengrave Hall library. After drinks Matt & Adele were welcomed into the Long Gallery which was decorated to perfection. The whole venue was adorned with homemade roses from maps and there was a distinct travel theme. The tables were named after places they’ve been and are going.
Each guest had a little polaroid picture in champagne cork as their place setting. There were hand stamped initial hearts in each place. And the cake was topped with flowers…hand made from pages of a map, it was stunning!
Adele’s Dad, Matt and the best man Mike did great speeches. They were all touching, funny and delivered perfectly. It was the perfect segway into the evening celebrations. I left everyone to it drinking and dancing and laughing away with the new Mr & Mrs Breen.
