Hengrave Hall, Suffolk – a stunning wedding venue

Hengrave Hall is a gem of a wedding venue in Suffolk. It’s a sprawling Grade II listed Tudor manor house near Bury St Edmunds with a rich history and well worth a list if you fancy a country house wedding.

WHY CHOSE HENGRAVE HALL FOR YOUR WEDDING?

If you want a truly elegant wedding then you can’t go wrong with this beautiful venue.

It offers so much potential for beautiful wedding photos from the gorgeous getting ready rooms which are sprawling, given you loads of space to spread out with your squad in the morning of your wedding. There is the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Chamber with four poster bed, sofas and plenty of mirrors and also the Blue Chamber with a pool table, TV and playstation – you can fight over who gets which room between yourselves!

The grounds are also beautiful for photos as well as having outside drinks if the weather is on your side. Nothing better than strolling round the grounds of a country manor in the English sunshine on a beautiful summer day is there? Something very period drama-esque about it all!

Fret not, even on rainy days or during winter there are plenty of spaces inside the house for beautiful photos as well.

Hengrave Hall also offers incredible food options – their wedding breakfast food is genuinely second to none! I’ve eaten a LOT of wedding meals at various venues so you can trust me when I say I can tell a great meal from a mediocre one. Your guests will be delighted with what you serve up…

THE AREAS FOR YOUR CEREMONY AND RECEPTION

You can hold your civil ceremony at Hengrave Hall either indoors in Banqueting Hall which seats up to 140 or they have two smaller rooms for more intimate affairs.

As mentioned above, there is a church onsite which can host a religious ceremony for you – it’s a real chocolate box church!

There is also now the option to get married outdoors surrounded by the opulent grounds.

The drinks can take place on the main terrace or in the inner courtyard, weather dependent and then your wedding breakfast usually takes place in the Long Gallery, seating up to 140. More intimate weddings can use the Dining Room. The Long Gallery is a beautiful, light, airy room. They’ve recently added the option to eat al fresco in the courtyard which sounds so dreamy!
