Ahead of Sophie and Ben’s Maidens Barn Essex wedding they opted to stay close to home for their Essex engagement shoot.
Sophie and Ben both adore their dog Walter so of course insisted he had to be in their photos and he enjoyed his long walk through the stunning Essex countryside near their home more than anyone, I think!
It was so lovely to see Sophie again, having first met her years ago when she was bridesmaid at her Mum’s wedding that I photographed.
Sophie and Ben were telling me all about their winter wedding at the beautiful Maidens Barn which is a venue I’ve only photographed at once before so I’m really looking forward to this one!
And now their wedding has passed, check out their gorgeous winter wedding at Maidens Barn, Essex here.
Do you want your dog in your photos?
Of course, you can include any members of your family, including four-legged ones. The more the merrier!
A few things to consider if you do want to bring your pup along for the ride…
Are you hoping for nicely posed photos of your dog standing next to you? And is that your dog’s personality? If not, are you going to spend more time being frustrated that your dog won’t play ball (figuratively!) and get in the photo? If so, then it might be best to focus on what you want as a couple out of your engagement shoot instead.
If your dog is super happy to pose, stay close or you’re not worried if they just do their own thing and run around then absolutely bring them along. Where they are happy to be involved we can get some great photos and when they need a break we’ll take photos of just the two of you.
After all your dog doesn’t usually need the practice relaxing before the big day anyway right?!
If you’re considering an engagement shoot or are still looking for an Essex or Hertfordshire wedding photographer then all the info you need is on that page. I’d love to hear more about your big day, let’s chat!
