This was my second time photographing a Christmassy Tewinbury Farm wedding and it was another awesome wedding at this lovely Hertfordshire venue.
I’ve known Sophie and Dan for a good few years socially so it was an extra special privilege to see them get married.
Because they opted for a winter wedding, they chose to have a ‘First Look’ before the ceremony. It’s quite an American concept but it works amazingly well with fading winter light. Plus it frees up your reception time to be with your nearest and dearest.
So after the girls got ready at Sophie’s godmother’s house, she wandered out to surprise Dan. It looked very much like she was struggling to hold back tears on the walk up! Dan was rightly gobsmacked when he saw Sophie – she looked absolutely stunning.
Dan’s Dad rather handily owns Unique Wedding Taxis so ferried them all to Tewinbury Farm where the Stable building was looking super festive with twinkly lights everywhere. The barns at Tewin do really lend themselves to the Christmassy wintery weddings – everything felt so festive and inviting! The ceremony was lovely and you could tell how seriously they were both taking their promises to each other.
Drinks and canapés were served while Sylar, an incredible magician, wowed all the guests. I would highly recommend getting to one of his shows if you can – he was phenomenal!
After dinner and some wonderful speeches in the beautifully decorated Stable it was on to the dancefloor. The band was amazing and the guests certainly got their dance on! The photobooth props got more crazy as the evening went on and I thought at that point I should leave them to it.
This really was a fantastic Christmassy Tewinbury Farm wedding and a lovely way to end the year, photographing a lovely couple who I’m lucky enough to count among my friends.
