Nat and Alex chose the incredible Old Kent Barn in Swingfield for their spring wedding. It was my second time working as an Old Kent Barn wedding photographer and this wedding was absolutely superb.
Nat’s sister Lea is really interested in wedding planning so had done most of the heavy lifting towards the day and wow, it was amazing. The rest of the table styling, chalk board signage and other amazing elements were done by Emily at I Do Devoted Dreams.
The whole day took place at the venue which always makes for a low stress occasion to begin with. The girls were busy getting ready. Nat was with her two sisters, her cousin and the most adorable little flower girl. Alex, the dashing groom was with his best man and ushers across the venue.
After the guests made their way in the ceremony took place among the spring flowers under the gazebo. I love the approach at this beautiful venue as the bride appears through an arch to make her way down the aisle. It’s so well set up. And the styling just complimented the venue and the weather perfectly. I thought the choice of dotty bridesmaids’ dresses was so unique and the bride florals by See Rose Floral Design were just gorgeous – she kindly put up a few more of my photos there if you want to see all of her amazing flower skills!
Nat and Alex opted not to have a traditional first dance, but had a great band that got all their guests up and dancing and the whole day had a similarly relaxed and intimate feel to it despite the 100-count guest list. It just felt like everything flowed and was wrapped in a warm feeling of love and laughter.
The day ended with a sprinkling of rain but they got lucky with barely any spring showers but plenty of spring flowers. What a day!
I do have to admit I’d been interested to see how this day panned out because on their engagement shoot, Alex mentioned to me that he only hates three things: having his picture taken, speaking in public and dancing – could have been disastrous right! But he was a natural at all three!
