There are so many amazing things to say about this wedding and I love Rutland Hall Hotel wedding photography for the stunning views and gorgeous gardens. Emma and Paul just knocked it out of the park with their wedding day, it was fantastic!
Rutland Hall (or Barnsdale Hall Hotel as it was known when they got married there) is beautiful as it’s right on the banks of Rutland Water so has amazing views which set the location off perfectly. And funnily enough it’s how Emma and I originally bonded when we met as it’s in the town where I went to school for seven years so I know the area really well!
The day started at Emma’s parents’ house with her folk and her six fabulous bridesmaids (thanks to Katie the maid of honour who helped me out loads with organising groups as well!) who made the morning so much fun. They didn’t stop laughing all morning long. Emma had picked lovely Dessy dresses in Shamrock green to go with the green and gold theme they’d picked to honour Paul’s Irish roots.
The ceremony took place at the Oakham catholic church and was officiated by their family priest, Father John, which gave proceedings such a lovely and personalised feel. The feelings of joy among their guests when Emma and Paul left the church to a cloud of confetti were just amazing.
With the sun shining on these two, drinks took place on the patio for a few groups, although Emma and Paul made it clear that candid shots and moments meant more to them than groups shots – yay!
After dinner in the room beautifully styled by More Weddings, there were three excellent speeches with Emma’s Dad and the best man, Gary (Paul’s brother) also doing really funny slideshows. And then the party really got going.
The thing that I couldn’t wait to see was the cake. Paul had been given one responsibility of picking the cake so said he was going to knock it out of the park, and boy did he. As he put it, it was “36kg of pure class”! He got a bespoke cake designed by Choccywoccydoodah and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve never seen anything like it!
And then the dance floor went absolutely berserk when one of the most amazing wedding bands I’ve ever seen got going. The Houndogs were insane, most of all when they were playing their instruments while standing on top of them and lighting their cymbals on fire. Epic!
This really was the most wonderful day and I’m so grateful Emma and Paul trusted me to be a part of it. And if you can’t get enough of these guys then you can see a few more photos from their fun London engagement shoot too!
