An Emotion-filled Intimate St Albans Registry Office Wedding

It’s a struggle to find enough positive adjectives to fully describe this sweet, joy-filled wedding between Anna & Libby. They celebrated their married at the St Albans Registry Office with just their parents, siblings and partners and it was pure perfection.

It was super special to witness such raw and honest emotion. What beautiful souls. I felt so honoured to have been there to witness the beginning of this married life.

Let me tell you a secret.

I often cry at weddings. A little tear behind my camera in an emotional speech or a touching ceremony.

This was 100% one of those days. Anna and Libby were so clearly overcome with the happiness and emotion of marrying each other that it was like a Mexican wave. They started. All nine of their chosen guests followed suit then and the registrars and I started getting emotional too!

It was super special to witness such raw and honest emotion. What beautiful souls. I felt so honoured to have been there to witness the beginning of their married life together.

They’d picked the newly refurbished St Albans Gatehouse and brought all their own flowers which had been lovingly put together by the mothers of the brides. But there were other little surprises along the way too. Libby was using a ceramic box that belonged to her grandmother as a ring box but had had it secretly lined in fabric belonging to Anna’s late aunt which caught Anna completely off guard during the ceremony – cue more tears!

Libby’s sister’s partner, Jamie, played an acoustic version of Love You For A Long Time by Maggie Rogers during the signing of the register which set everyone off again as it just matched the tone of the day beautifully.

After some heartfelt photos of this gorgeous pair together and some fun family photos I bid them on their merry way to enjoy a celebratory lunch, but I, too, will love this one for a long time!
