I was so moved by the speech that Sim’s two kids gave and the vows that Sim and Emma exchanged at their civil partnership ceremony at the St Albans Gatehouse.
Sim and Emma could both remember and describe in minute detail what each other was wearing the first time they saw each other over 25 years ago. They moved in next door to each other while both in other relationships but both made a huge impact on each other clearly. Their relationship grew into deep friendship and developed years later but their children became best friends in the interim so their families are truly intertwined.
They all mentioned that they’ve always felt like family long before they made it legal. It still felt like a really emotional day for them all.
It ended on a high note dancing out with their kids to S Club 7’s Reach while they all sang and danced to the lyrics “I’ve got you and you’ve got me”! Fabulous!
Emma was especially nervous about having her photo taken and wasn’t even sure she wanted a photographer in the first place. Thankfully Sim persuaded her to go for it.
They said this about the whole experience:
“We are over the moon with the photos Tori took at our civil ceremony recently! She has totally captured the fun and excitement of our big day. My partner Emma was initially reluctant to have a photographer at all but after meeting Tori we were both completely won over! She had such a lovely fun and relaxed approach that it made us feel like it was our best friend taking our photos! Her whole approach from start to finish has been superb and her regular emails and helpful suggestions were very reassuring. We would 100% recommend Tori to our friends and family. She was brilliant! :)”
If you’re having a small registry office wedding or elopement and want just the ceremony photographing followed by some group and couple photos then I am absolutely the right person to help you out with this. Of course, I can come along to capture all your celebrations afterwards too if you want more comprehensive coverage, just check my full wedding photography portfolio for how that could look!
