Lisa and Peter married on a beautiful September day at the cutest chocolate box church I have probably ever seen (St Mary’s Church in Graveley) before heading to their Brocket Hall wedding reception at the Oak Room.
Lisa started her day with a relaxed morning at Sopwell House with her bridesmaids who wore various shades of green dresses to tie in with the green and gold theme – a nod to her Irish side of the family.
The boy’s got ready at Peter’s family home and he couldn’t have been more relaxed, loading the dishwasher at one point in full tails and top hat!
The church is so sweet, with a ceremony to match. The sun shone on them for a confetti exit and then a classic car took the newly married couple to Brocket Hall.
The room was decorated wonderfully, I loved all the personal touches. Lisa and Peter had spent months picking apples from Peter’s family orchard and pressing them to make cider and apple juice which was bottled on the tables for guests to enjoy. That ran through the theme, with all the tables named after apples; jazz, Braeburn etc. There were also adorable little cupcake favours baked into tiny flower pots which I just loved! The table centrepieces were also green and gold to continue the Irish flag theme.
The dance floor at this wedding was insane, it was so fun to watch and I was reluctant to leave them to it!
Why choose the Oak Room at Brocket Hall
Brocket Hall remains a super popular Hertfordshire wedding venue. There are three choices on site; the Oak Room (which is part of the golf club), the main country house or Auberge du Lac, the fine dining restaurant. The Oak Room is a great size for a medium to larger wedding, . It can host 120 for your civil ceremony and wedding breakfast then up to 150 for your evening reception. One of the main benefits is definitely the floor to ceiling windows on two sides of the venue which offers lovely views over the lake and makes it a lovely, bright venue and offers you great photo light. Plus, you have the benefit of the lovely terrace for drinks and grounds for photos in summer.
