They say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day. If that’s the case then Rachel and Hassan are blessed for life. The air had that heavy, humid feel to it as I was driving over and as I reached the venue it started to bucket down… then thunder and lightning. The weather was absolutely dismal!
Luckily, you couldn’t wipe the smiles off the faces of these two and they just got on with it, Rachel walking to the ceremony under an umbrella, holding her dress up.
The rain actually did clear post-ceremony to let their friends and family enjoy the beautiful grounds of Offley Place and the numerous garden games they’d put on. I’ve just to see more competitive Jenga or cornhole at a wedding to date!
The main room was decorated to absolute perfection with beautiful flowers, wonderful hand painted and drawn table signs and name cards and gorgeous finishing touches like the advice for the bride and groom cards and little boxes of mint favours.
My highlight of the wedding was definitely the pre-dinner games. As well as some energetic napkin waving to welcome the newlyweds into dinner there was a very funny round of Mr and Mrs to get the evening off to a good start. If I can offer one piece of advice, it would be to get yourself a great DJ that gets your guests involved with games and the dancefloor – it really does make all the difference to the atmosphere of the day!
I just loved everything about this wedding and I adore Offley as a wedding venue. Thanks so much to Becky Harley for having me along to work with her on this one.
