Ahhh this day was gorgeous! I am a big fan of the Hertford Registry Office to begin with and then add in a delighful pair like Jess and Joe and you know you’re on to a winner.
Jess told me when we first spoke that she’s “very uncomfortable in front of the camera” so was really worried about having couple photos taken and it being too obvious that I was around all day.
Jess said of working with me:
Tori is a fantastic photographer! My husband and I are quite camera shy, but she made us feel totally at ease and the pictures came out so perfect! During the reception, she was very covert, unlike some photographers who stick a camera in your face and ask you to pose, Tori captured stunning natural shots of us and our guests which is exactly what we wanted. Would highly recommend her for your event! 10/10
They started with an intimate ceremony at the registry office and after some pictures in the beautiful Hertford arches we moved over to the Dog and Whistle pub in Hertford. Jess and Joe had done a great job decorating the garden at the pub; they had cute little disco balls, pink flowers and table top games for their guests to enjoy.
After freshly cooked pizzas and drinks from the tiki bar everyone enjoyed Erin, the couple’s best friend from university singing an original song (incredible!) and giving possibly the most thoughtful wedding gift I’ve ever seen. She stopped a pocket watch at the exact moment the couple shared their first kiss during the wedding ceremony and had it engraved – check out the pictures below. Jess and Joe were seriously touched.
Cutting the cake with a Lord of the Rings sword, which weighed an absolute tonne, finished off this amazing day.
If you’re having a small registry office elopement or wedding ceremony and only want just the ceremony photographing then check out my photography pages. Alternatively, I love to capture all your celebrations afterwards too if you want more comprehensive coverage, just check my full wedding photography portfolio to get a feel for how that would look!
