This February half term wedding at Rothamsted Manor was the perfect fusion of beautiful and bags of fun. Ben and Flo are infectiously enthusiastic about each other, life and everything around them and that vibe carried through absolutely everything in their day. They told me they just wanted their day to be fun and it really did not disappoint!
The day started with Ben at Rothamsted hanging out with the guys and making sure everything was running to plan, while Flo got ready at her Mum’s house with her Mum and brothers.
Flo had found a vintage 1950s dress on eBay and her shoes in the same place so she had a vintage hair and makeup look to match and it looked incredible.
Their ceremony was laughter filled, both cracking up at the slightest thing, and Ben’s voice cracking with emotion at one point during the vows. Ben’s sister read an amazing poem written by Ben’s Dad which had the room entranced.
The highlight of the day was probably the speeches; Flo’s Mum, Ben, Flo, the best men. They were all incredible. Flo read from her teenage diaries about her hopes for a future partner. By happenstance, Ben also read an excerpt from her teenage diaries about her flirting skills – thankfully it appears she’d improved somewhat before meeting Ben! Ben then sang to Flo and boy what a voice.
After sword cutting a cake lovingly made by one of Ben’s cancer patients and dancing to Beauty and the Beast in a very tongue in cheek manner the party started. And the laughter continued.
This is a venue I love and a couple I adore. The happiness and laughter was evident to all.
What a day, what a couple! Check out the pictures and then get in touch below if you want the same kind of happy, natural Hertfordshire wedding photos for your big day.
