Milling Barn wedding venue
Milling Barn is a beautiful rustic barn venue in the Hertfordshire countryside near to Royston. It’s an incredible blank canvas if you’re looking for a great space to make your own. It a great winter or summer venue, but in summer the beautiful grounds are also amazing for photo opportunities as the 17th century barn is nestled among an old farmyard.
What is a styled shoot?
Well, us creatives are a funny lot and while we like to moan about how much work we have to do all the time, we also get antsy if we aren’t working all the time!
So, whenever there is a spare minute, we tend to dream up different shoots with fellow creatives and start putting together shoots, just for fun.
In this instance Amy at Lace and Lemons dreamt up a pretty candlelit ceremony as the sun dipped low in the sky and a romantic grazing table for two out in the Herts countryside.
Sophia at Sophia Rose Florals created a ruscus-rich floral installation as the ceremony backdrop.
Clifford Burr Bridal provided two stunning dresses for Jen to wear, the first a vintage-inspired strapless gown with weightless chiffon sleeves, made by Maggie Sottero. And the second a stunning, beaded 1920s inspired gown.
A vintage campervan, the lovely Penny, owned by Kate at Lucky Penny Weddings provided a cute backdrop for couple photos before the couple strolled over to enjoy their date below the huge oak tree on the Milling Barn grounds. The tree had been filled with tealights and glass ornaments, the table was full of tasty treats and bubbly.
The couple then read their personalised vows to each other, beautifully written by Letters By Ange.
And the metaphorical icing on the cake was cutting the actual cake made by Kelly’s Cake Kitchen.
Of course, these shoots aren’t possible without the team that make everyone look so exquisite; makeup by All About You, hair by Leigh Irving and sparkles by Equinox Jewellery.
