I’m lucky enough to count David & Philly as my friends so I was delighted when they invited me to be their Burwash Manor wedding photographer.
Their day was just absolutely magical. It started with Philly getting ready with her bridesmaids at home. And goodness did she look stunning when she put on her Jenny Packham gown! David got ready at his parents house with the groomsmen. Because David & Philly have known each other since school they have always lived nearby which I love.
They married in the church that was local to them both as children and then headed to their reception. I love that they went in an old, orange VW camper van (completely with cans on strings!). Burwash Manor is a venue I hadn’t heard of before, but it’s just so cute. A beautiful little marquee looks out on an independent craft village on one side and a very pretty garden on the other.
I loved all the little touches that David & Philly had. They are imminently heading to Australia to start their lives together out there so the table plan was a world map, each table a stop before their final destination. The little planes were too cute! And a vintage suitcase helped the travel theme along. They also had their favourite cocktails for guests to enjoy.
The speeches were amazing. The best man’s was, without doubt, the best I’ve seen. He used his experience as a policeman to put the groom on trial for various offences and it was hilarious!
The evening was were the fun really kicked off after a few drinks. I’ve never seen a human pyramid on the dance floor before, but isn’t that what’s fantastic about weddings, each one is unique… (and this one got a little bit crazy!)
