I loved spending the day with Kat & Jonny as an Ashridge House wedding photographer; what a phenomenal venue!
The morning started with the girls at Katherine’s parents’ house. The bridesmaids all looked amazing in their elegant grey dresses and Kat looked a million dollars in her dress. It was such a lovely atmosphere too, they were all so excited to see Kat in her dress and more than one tear was shed when she came down the stairs.
The guys were waiting patiently at the church for the girls. Jonny also looked very handsome all done up in his tails. The church was very special to them as it’s the church that Kat’s family go to as well as the church that her parents and grandparents got married in. Kat’s university friends also sang during the ceremony, both with the choir and as a group during the signing of the register, which was a really nice touch.
The reception was at the beautiful Ashridge House. Sadly the weather wasn’t in Kat & Jonny’s favour and it started bucketing down not long after arriving from the church. There were a few drinks on the patio before heading inside. Luckily, the inside of the venue is incredible and the grand hall was great for some photos. Apparently it’s what the Harry Potter set was based on which I could totally see having visited!
The wedding breakfast room looked so elegant too. It was all just so beautifully done! The three speeches were so great too. Kat’s Dad gently ribbed Jonny for his lack of DIY ability. Jonny spoke so sweetly about Kat. Best man Chris did a wicked poem about Kat & Jonny as he speech. It was fab!
The cake cutting on the stairs topped off the formal part of the day and I left everyone dancing into the evening.
Thank you so much for including me in such a wonderful day!
