A slightly rainy outdoor ceremony with sunny smiles at the Waterside Venue

When they say it’s good luck if rain falls on your wedding day, I think it’s to try and cheer you up when you have a wet wedding.

No cheering up needed here. Gary and Bernadette brought the sunshine themselves and no weather was going to stop them having the time of their lives on their wedding day!

Even as the registrar stopped the wedding midway through and sent guests to cower under parasols and kept Gary and Bernadette dry until the rain storm passed, these two laughed hysterically with each other. Guests laughed and talked about what the outcome of the interrupted reading Love Monkey might have been, that bridesmaid Esme was half way through.

After a quick comb of Bernadette’s hair, the ceremony got back underway despite the raindrops still showing down the back of Gary’s jacket.

Gary fist pumped when Bernadette was pronounced his wife and swung her round. The guests enthusiastically threw confetti on the married duo as the sun enthusiastically shone (of course!) on their aisle walk and they enjoyed the rest of the day rain free.

When we moved into the marquee for dinner there were audible gasps from guests at the flowers by Heather at Viva Creative. It was like something out of a fairy tale!

Terry the DJ got the party started with great speeches, finally the end of Love Monkey which got Esme (and guests) right in the feels and then a classic and hilarious game of Mr & Mrs.

The dancefloor was great all night but I’d expect nothing less having worked with Terry before.

When I sent the photos over, Bernadette said this to me “Oh Tori!! You have done us proud. I actually feel like I’ve been at my own wedding!! The moments you have captured are so wonderful -especially of our parents and the kids. Made us laugh and brought a tear or two to our eyes. Thank you so so so much!!!” It genuinely made my day because working with couples as sweet and caring as this doesn’t happen every day.

I also cannot recommend the team at the Waterside Venue enough if you’re still looking for a chilled out, friendly space at which to get married. Kevin and Connor will take amazingly good care of you. Definitely go and check it out.
