Primrose Hill engagement shoot: Kathryn & Matthew

I loved Kathryn & Matthew’s Primrose Hill engagement shoot. They picked this area as it’s right on their doorstep and they spend a lot of time here. And somehow they also picked the most glorious evening so it was absolutely lovely to stroll around enjoying the summer sun and hearing all about their upcoming Andaz Hotel wedding. It sounds like it’s going to be utterly epic! Update: that wedding has happened now, it was epic and you can now see their elegant Andaz wedding as well.

What are the benefits of an engagement shoot?

If you’re feeling nervous about being photographed or know that you don’t particularly like being in front of the camera then having a pre-wedding shoot or engagement shoot (whichever you prefer to call it!) can be a great way to calm your nerves.

It’s also a brilliant way to get that muscle memory working for your wedding day. I always think that the first bit of your engagement shoot doesn’t yield the best photos. Do you want that for the limited time on your wedding day? Or would you rather have the muscle memory of your engagement shoot and fall back into photo taking mode? I genuinely believe having an engagement shoot gives you better wedding day photos.

What can you do with the photos?

Well, the world is your proverbial oyster isn’t it! I’ve seen people frame them in their homes, use them as gifts or use them on save the dates! And I’ve also seen lots of cases of them being used in fantastic ways on the wedding day; hung by pegs on strings in trees, being made into a signing book, used in wedding signing frames, used in slideshows.

If you can’t dream it up then I’m sure you can do it.

What next?

Kathryn & Matthew’s Primrose Hill engagement shoot was genuinely a fantastic evening and the weather meant they got some stunning photos. If you’re considering an engagement shoot before your wedding then I say do it! Let’s chat.
