Barnsdale Hall Hotel wedding photographer: Emma & Paul
I’m so glad that Emma & Paul involved me in their wonderful wedding day at Barnsdale Hall Hotel near Oakham. I feel like it was meant to be – it’s the town I went to school in and one of my best friends got married here, plus Emma found me through photographing Kirsten & Adam’s Westminster Abbey wedding a few years back. I really love working as a Barnsdale Hall Hotel wedding photographer! Plus this was a doubly wonderful day as we were blessed with a cracking sunset too!
We only had the opportunity to meet a few days before the wedding for their pre-wedding shoot as Emma & Paul have been seriously long distance for the last few years; her in the UK and him in Australia! Post-wedding they are moving back to Australia together and I know they couldn’t be more excited to start life together.
Anyways… Emma & Paul were so lucky with their day at Barnsdale. The weather was just perfect, topped off with a gorgeous sunset over Rutland Water. They were married by family priest Father John and then had such a happy celebration.
The thing that I couldn’t wait to see was the cake. Paul had been given the one responsibility of cake so said he was going to knock it out of the park, and boy did he. As he put it, it was “36kg of pure class”! He got a bespoke cake designed by Choccywoccydoodah and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve never seen anything like it 🙂
The other big highlight of the day was their band; The Houndogs. They were absolutely incredible, putting on an insane show as well as playing great music. I’d highly recommend trying to scout them out live if you can. The moment when the drummer lit the symbols and was playing fire was so amazing that I almost forgot to take a photo as I picked up my jaw off the floor!
Anyways, Emma & Paul had a fabulous day and looked so happy but I hope that the photos can tell you that by themselves. Enjoy the States & Carribean, Emma & Paul!
