Gaynes Park wedding photographer: Cat & Darren

I’ve worked as a Gaynes Park wedding photographer a few times in the past, but never in autumn. The colours of the trees surrounding the Orangery were so spectacular for Cat & Darren’s recent wedding. It was so magical…

Cat & Darren started the day separately; Cat with her Mum, sister and daughter Ava and Darren with the boys. Gaynes Park has a cute little honeymoon cottage for the bride to get ready in so I joined them there. The boys were busy getting everything running smoothly before the ceremony.

As Cat didn’t have any official bridesmaids all of her girlfriends popped over for a glass of bubbly before the ceremony. Cue much squealing and shrieking when they saw Cat in her stunning feathered Pronovias gown. It was so beautifully elegant.

Their ceremony was filled with love and laughter. A fair bit of this was at Ava who was in her own little world! I just love the long walk at Gaynes Park to the orangery. It has a real sense of occasion. After the ceremony everyone headed out to the gardens to enjoy a glass of bubbles.

The dinner was where the fun really began. Cat & Darren’s friends were all on form and the banter during the speeches, cheering and general excitement level was pretty high! Cat & Darren helped encourage this with an organised betting system on the speeches which got all the tables very invested in what the top table were saying!

While the barn was turned round for the evening the guests were entertained by the piano player from the Kensington Piano Bar. He was amazing. There were also cocktails and specially brewed beer so everyone was very ready to dance! The transformation of the main barn was just amazing. Mediterranean Occasions had laid a sparkly dance floor, flooded the barn with coloured uplighters and it set off the strings of fairy lights in the roof perfectly. I’ve never seen such a beautifully decorated reception to be honest.  PianoDJ then rocked the guests with some pretty awesome music, including a couple of Irish numbers that got Darren’s family up and Irish dancing!

Even more exciting was my first experience of the confetti canon during the first dance. Amazing! Thanks PianoDJ! I think this should be a must-have at every wedding! I stayed around and danced along with the guests into the night and bid a fond farewell when the bride, groom and their guests started on the shots…!
